Telemann: Paris Quartets
The German composer Georg Philipp Telemann wrote a set of six quartets for master musicians Blavet, Guignon, Forqueray and Édouard in preparation for his visit to Paris in 1738. Telemann underlines the individual character of each instrument while creating unique textures. This opus brings together the French, Italian, German and Polish styles brilliantly in the new galant style.
